    Summary:

    The Data & Development Manager is a results-driven professional with a proven track record in nonprofit fundraising and donor relations. This role involves creating and implementing strategic fundraising plans to support organizational goals and enhance community engagement. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with experience in grant writing, corporate sponsorships, and individual giving campaigns. Proficiency in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including donors and volunteers, is essential. The Data & Development Manager will also oversee the organization’s database management, ensuring data integrity, developing procedures, and handling hardware and software upgrades.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Previous success in meeting fundraising goals through diverse funding streams. Grant writing experience is preferred. However, the candidate should have experience securing individual major gifts (of at least $5,000) and donations/sponsorships via events
    • Ability to stick to a budget; collaborate with the executive director to create an annual budget with a demonstrated experience managing budgets of $1M+ dollars
    • Establish and lead a Fundraising Strategy Committee to enhance donor and foundation prospecting and cultivation processes.
    • Coordinate outreach and engagement strategies for new and existing donors, including direct mail campaigns and solicitations, while fostering a culture of philanthropy among staff, board members, and volunteers.
    • Organize and manage annual fundraising events, including securing sponsorships, developing programs, and overseeing logistics and guest registration.
    • Develop and prepare various donor communications such as solicitation letters, donor updates, and acknowledgment letters to ensure effective stewardship.
    • Oversee database management, including creating reports to inform fundraising efforts, ensuring data integrity, and performing maintenance and upgrades on the database system.
    • Cultivate and train volunteers and storytellers to engage in advocacy and programs that support the organization's mission, while providing training and support to staff and volunteers.
    • Collaborate with the executive director on fundraising goals and participate in annual planning retreats.
    • Demonstrate excellent computer skills (MS Office, data collection systems, Asana, Canva, Slack, Harvest) and experience in change management within the organization.
    • Contribute to budget management in collaboration with the program and finance teams while maintaining a commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and effective responses to community needs.
    • Successfully secure individual significant gifts and sponsorships through diverse funding streams, bringing prior grant writing experience as an asset.
    • Adapt to short deadlines and 
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Non-Essential Responsibilities:

    • Light housekeeping, including taking out trash.
    • Provides occasional transportation support to participants, including driving a vehicle.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • No supervisory responsibilities.

    Mathematical Skills:

    Intermediate Skills - Ability to calculate prominent figures and amounts. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Language Ability:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Computer Skills:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should know about Word Processing Software, Spreadsheet Software, Internet Software, Human Resource Systems, Project Management Software, Database Software, and Contact Management Systems.

    Education/Experience:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and four years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
