    Organization Overview

    Golden Gate Senior Services (GGSS) was established in 1975. The organization serves seniors and younger adults with disabilities in San Francisco. GGSS operates both the Richmond (RSC) and Castro Multipurpose Senior Centers in San Francisco.

    Position Summary

    Under the direction of the RSC Program Director, the Bilingual Program Manager (Bilingual English/Cantonese) will coordinate the provision of Home-Delivered Groceries (HDG) services, Volunteer Services and Golden Gate Village (GGV) activities to seniors and adults with disabilities living in San Francisco’s Richmond District. The right candidate will effectively build relationships with seniors and adults with disabilities, collaborate with team members, and track service objectives. They will develop knowledge of and make connections with the many senior-serving organizations and programs in San Francisco.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    HDG

    • Complete eligibility screenings and intake phone calls/home visits for HDG clients
    • Provide ongoing support to HDG clients regarding their weekly deliveries and provide information and referrals to other programs and services
    • Coordinate annual HDG reassessment process
    • Coordinate annual HDG survey
    • Attend monthly HDG Operations Meetings with HDG subcontractor

    VOLUNTEER SERVICES

    • Manage volunteer recruitment and training
    • Facilitate Volunteer Service Events three times per year, including recruitment of volunteers, matching volunteers with participant requests and facilitating the event
    • Complete participant home visits
    • Coordinate the GGV Connect buddy program, matching participants with volunteers and providing ongoing support to matches
    • Co-lead Volunteer Appreciation Program

    GGV

    • Lead GGV activities such as walking groups, community outings, and hosting guest speakers
    • Collaborate with Program Manager and Program Director for special events

    OTHER

    • Help with outreach and promotional for events and programs
    • Translation & interpretation assistance, as needed
    • Maintain accurate data collection and tracking
    • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements/Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred (preferably in a Social Work or Human Services field, such as Gerontology, Sociology, or Psychology)
    • 3+ years of experience coordinating community or aging services programs preferred
    • Previous experience in membership, customer service, or volunteer services is desirable
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
    • Bilingual English and Cantonese required
    • Experience in program development and non-profit community organizations a plus
    • High energy, positive person who is organized and has excellent communication skills
    • Must be flexible, efficient and eager to help
    • Multi-tasking, analytical and problem-solving skills required
