Summer Camp Counselor at Urban Farm Camp

Camp Urban Adamah offers campers a taste of organic farm life through fun and dynamic hands-on programs at our urban farm. Our programs are designed to create a space for children to thrive and express their natural curiosity and passion, all within a vibrant, loving, and inclusive Jewish community. This summer, Camp Urban Adamah is offering nine weeks of programming (three 3-week sessions) for children ages 3-14 that feature hands-on projects and activities exploring themes that integrate nature-connection, farm-to-food-making, crafts, sustainability, community-building, and Jewish values.

We rely on an experienced and talented group of Camp Urban Adamah Counselors to create loving, inspiring, memorable, and transformative experiences for children. Our counselors ensure that children of different ages can have wonderful experiences both as part of a large group, and in smaller age-based groups.

We are looking to hire for three different counselor roles. Specific job descriptions for each role can be found on our website:

Sprouts Counselor (ages 3-5)

Roots Counselor (ages 6-10)

CIT Counselor (ages 11-14)

ABOUT YOU

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Reading, hearing, and speaking in English
• Use of hands, fingers, and feet to operate program materials, activities, and after school program set up
• Standing and walking for several hours, as well as sitting and squatting

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

VACCINATION STATUS:

All Camp Urban Adamah Staff must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.

COMPENSATION:

The hourly rate for this position is $21.50-$22 per hour. This is a temporary seasonal position that conforms to the legal requirements of such positions — as such it is not bound by overtime pay requirements and does not include any benefits.

SCHEDULE: 

Staff Training & Planning: June 7 – 10 | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Camp: June 13 – August 12 | Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

SUPERVISION:

The Roots Camp Counselor is supervised by the Roots Camp Assistant Director and the Youth & Family Program Director.
