Andrew House Boston, a program of Bay Cove Human Services is a 24 bed acute treatment facility providing medically monitored services to men and women over 18 years old who need short-term detoxification from alcohol, heroin and other opiates

We are seeking a dynamic and talented Program Director

The Program Director serves as a senior manager within the Addiction Services Division. Working with a multidisciplinary team, they are responsible for providing overall direction and coordination of the program’s operation, including fiscal, staff supervision, program design and monitoring.


  • Oversees all operational aspects of the program including recruitment/community relations, patient admissions, medical/clinical services, case management, utilization review, programming, fiscal/budget management, operations and facilities management.
  • Assures that the program adheres to all federal and state regulatory mandates, accreditation standards, contractual agreements and Bay Cove Human Services policies and procedures. 
  • Works with the Vice President of Addiction Services and Bay Cove Finance Department to formulate the program’s annual budget.
  • Works closely with the program’s multidisciplinary team, including Medical Director, Psychiatry Consultant, nursing, case management and recovery support, to assure safe and appropriate detoxification of patients and continuing care protocols.
  • Leads the program management team to plan, outline, organize, monitor and report on goals, objectives and outcomes for the program
  • Serve as the Andrew House representative in contacts with funding sources; federal, state, and local organizations; trade organizations; and licensing and regulatory boards


  • Master’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Public Health, or Public Administration
  • Five years experience in program or department management, including direct staff supervision, budget preparation and management, with at least two years in the substance use disorder treatment field
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal funding sources for substance use disorder treatment programs
  • Strong understanding of the substance use disorders treatment system and related continuum of prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery support networks
