OVERVIEW:

Girls Write Now is the first writing and mentoring organization for girls and gender-expansive youth. We are a passionate and multi-generational community with a 25 year track record of success.

These positions, all rooted in writing, mentoring, equity and wellness, will lead Girls Write Now through an exciting period of growth as we build a powerhouse of unheard voices across industries. Check out our new positions!

All positions are full-time with a competitive salary and benefits package. Please note all staff are currently remote. Once safety allows, we will resume in-person programming, and staff will be required to be located in New York City.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Do you have at minimum a college degree?
  • Are you a consummate, detail-oriented systems-person?
  • Are you an excellent writer who loves and appreciates literature?
  • Are you digital media savvy—both multimedia and social media?
  • Do you want to be part of shaping program development?
  • Do you thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing, super-collaborative environment, where work will be iterative and priorities shifting in concert with your team, while producing deliverables to multiple supervisors?

GIRLS WRITE NOW DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The Development Manager will oversee institutional partnerships—foundation, corporate, and government—while also being involved in major gifts. They will research, solicit, cultivate, and steward corporations as Agents of Change in our mission to amplify diverse voices across industries. They will also apply their passion for storytelling and the Girls Write Now mission in writing and editing all proposals and reports for our diverse grants portfolio. Deep fundraising experience is required—and a proven track record of success. The Development Manager will work closely with and be supported by a cross-departmental senior team.

  • Ideal candidates have a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience, including a proven track record and honed skills for managing people. Candidates must be looking to make Girls Write Now their new “home” for, at a minimum, the next 3+ years.
