Energetic, organized, detail-oriented, compassionate, collaborative, mission focused, big-hearted, professional, and calm in a crisis. These are the attributes that the Charlotte Rescue Mission Dove’s Nest, a 120 bed women’s recovery center is seeking in an Admissions Coordinator.

Summary

The Admissions Coordinator must be a self-starter who is able to multi-task, work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary clinical team, with good clinical and relational skills. This position will ensure that the greatest possible number of women who seek Christian based recovery in the Doves Nest Program have an opportunity to participate; and that all available bed spaces are occupied at any given time. Maintaining an accurate census record and compiling data on census information to be shared with the Doves Nest Program Director and the Executive Director is required. The Admissions Coordinator ensures that referrals are responded to in a timely manner and that all calls and inquiries are responded to within 48 hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform all clinical duties within the 12-Core Function of Counseling
  • Screening of potential residents
  • Responsive to all referrals and calls in a timely and professional manner
  • Complete all areas of the intake process (including entering resident information into   the database) complete histories and assessments and assist in formulating Care Plans
  • Supervise the Admissions support staff and interns assigned to the department
  • Be available to co-facilitate Family Educational Classes and Groups as needed
  • Conduct resident educational classes and activities, and facilitate groups as assigned by the Program Director
  • Compile all census data and resident tracking information in a timely and accurate manner
  • Facilitate the New Beginnings pre-program phase for incoming residents
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Knowledge:

  • Minimum of Associates Degree in Counseling/Human Services; Masters level preferred
  • Certified Substance Abuse Counselor
  • Previous intake and admissions experience preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Previous experience in a recovery/ treatment program

Skill:

  • Appropriate oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to set and maintain healthy interpersonal boundaries
  • Flexibility and leadership qualities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Ability to effectively interact with prospective residents, community partners and families

Ability:

  • Spend the majority of time sitting, speaking, listening and/or writing.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
