Position Summary

The TPF is seeking a Program Associate or Senior Program Associate to support our work across a diverse portfolio of workstreams. The Program Associate will play a critical role working in the following areas: grantmaking to key actors engaged in accelerating the growth of the impact investing market; stakeholder engagement; meeting planning; and day-to-day operations and administration of the fund. As the Tipping Point Fund (TPF) is a new and growing organization, the Program Associate will have an opportunity to work across a range of projects, gain deep exposure to impact investing and key players in the field, build relationships with diverse organizations and actors in the sector, develop multiple competencies and contribute to shaping the TPF’s strategy through 2021 and beyond.


Responsibilities and Tasks

(approximate % of time in each area – will vary over time)

Grantmaking Implementation: (50%)

·      Conduct research on key organizations, activities and policies in impact investing in order to inform TPF grant strategy and execution.


·      Design and execute requests for grant proposals.


·      In close coordination with the Program Officer, implement grantmaking processes. Specific activities will include:

o  Development of relationships with leading organizations and potential grantees

o  Disbursement of grants in TPF priority areas

o  Oversee monitoring and reporting of grants

Strategy Development and Execution: (15%)

·      Help develop and refine the TPF’s strategy over time. Responsibilities in this area may include:

o  Mapping of the evolving ecosystem in TPF’s priority grantmaking areas

o  Tracking key developments in the impact investing and sustainable investing sectors

·      Develop competencies in several topic areas in impact investing

Stakeholder Engagement and Management: (25%)

·      Help plan and prepare for regular TPF donor meetings

·      Work to facilitate shared learning among TPF funders

·      Help in building relationships with potential grantees, donors and other key actors

Operations and Project Administration: (10%)

·      Provide general administrative and logistics support for key meetings, as needed

·      Assist in drafting annual reports and grant reporting materials.

·      Attend relevant meetings/conferences in the impact investing sector


Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Ability   

Required:

·      Bachelor’s Degree

·      2-4 years’ private sector experience – i.e. management or other consulting, finance or banking

·      Familiarity with impact investing, ESG and other mission-driven investing strategies

·      Microsoft Office Suite – strong PowerPoint skills particularly important, strong Excel also a plus


Valued and Non-Essential Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Ability

·      MA or MBA degree 

·      Experience working in impact investing, ESG and other mission-driven investing strategies

·      Experience in social impact or philanthropic work

·      Experience working on racial equity or DEI initiatives


     Attributes:

·      Comfortable operating with ambiguity and in a small, scrappy start-up like atmosphere (we are a young and growing operation!)

·      Extremely well organized, detail-oriented and analytical

·      Sense of humor!
