Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Web Developer to join our Digital Technology and Products (DTaP) Team. You’ll be developing, implementing, and supporting functional and highly intuitive web applications and content interfaces across our websites. As part of a small team, you will be involved in every aspect of web development, including design, testing, quality control, and bug fixes.  Your experience should include SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Vue.js and other JavaScript frameworks. Additionally, experience in content management system (CMS) theme development is essential.

Responsibilities:

●      While working directly with stakeholders and the project team, you’ll accurately translate requirements or visual prototypes into functional, maintainable, and scalable applications and

interfaces

●      Own the process of using SSMS to investigate issues and update data when necessary directly in various SQL databases

●      Maintain and update Bootstrap CMS themes and supporting frameworks and libraries across several websites via a centralized CMS

●      Build reusable, branded components with Vue.js for use across a variety of platforms

●      Provide technical support as needed for the department and the greater organization across our suite of custom applications, themes, and databases

●      Understand our SaaS vendor ecosystem and provide a “trust but verify” support model for staff when issues arise with vendor technical support

●      Collaborate with other members of the Department of Digital Technology and Products (DTaP) on a variety of technical projects to assist and support the organization

Requirements:

●      2-4 years of experience in web development

●      Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)

●      Solid experience with Vue.js (preferred)  or other JavaScript frameworks (such as React, Angular)

●      Familiarity with accessing exposed web services

●      Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript

●      Experience working with content management systems, particularly in terms of theme development

●      Familiar with a Git-based version control and deployment pipeline

●      Ability to participate in multiple projects simultaneously

●      Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences (such as department directors and other staff, AMS project manager)

●      Must be comfortable working independently on projects: a self-starter excited to apply,  learn and expand your broad skill set at AMS

Nice to Have but Not Required:

●      Familiarity with Bootstrap 4+ and Font Awesome 5+

●      Experience with MediaWiki, WordPress, or other PHP-based applications

●      Knowledge of front-end build tools and package managers (such as Webpack, npm)

●      Experience with a Docker development and/or deployment environment

●      Familiarity with SOAP APIs and web services

●      Experience with ColdFusion/CFML

This is a full-time position and salary will be commensurate with experience. This position can be 100% remote, but you must be available during our core business hours of 9:30am to 3:30pm EST/EDT. A hybrid schedule is also available for candidates in the Boston area.
