Development and IOI Coordinator

Community Development Project at the Urban Justice Center


The Community Development Project at the Urban Justice Center (CDP) seeks a Development and IOI Coordinator to help administer government funding contracts for legal services, as well as coordinate a coalition of legal service providers awarded a $5 million Immigrant Opportunities Initiative (IOI) contract to provide employment and immigration-related legal services to low-income immigrant communities in all five borough of NYC. 


Responsibilities and Duties:

Development

  • Prepare and submit timely reports to funders
  • Maintain accurate and updated records of contract statuses
  • Review, assign funding sources to and oversee database input of client intake information
  • Manage funder site visits and audits
  • Work closely with city funders to coordinate contract negotiations and amendments
  • Regularly communicate contract requirements and updates to CDP staff and community partners with whom CDP has joint funding to ensure contract requirements are met
  • Regularly check in and follow up with community and legal partners who are subcontractors on CDP grants
  • Review and process invoices from subcontractors
  • Assist with CDP’s individual and event-based giving efforts
  • Attend regular CDP Development Team meetings
  • Participate on CDP committees and in overall CDP governance and operation
  • Perform additional contract management duties as needed


Coalition Coordination

  • Oversee the coalition’s work under the HRA Immigrant Opportunities Initiative contract as directed by CDP Management. Such oversight may include but is not limited to:
  • Convening regular meetings of participating organizations to review contract progress and provide guidance as needed;
  • Providing administrative and coordination support to the coalition’s activities as needed;
  • Monitoring organizations’ work and caseloads to ensure contract numbers are met;
  • Conducting formal reviews of each agency’s work in accordance with contract requirements;
  • Communicating with CDP management regarding work being done by each organization, including performance concerns;
  • Collaborating with HRA on cases and reporting;


Qualifications/Skills:

  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks at once
  • Ability to work on deadline
  • At least 3-5 years of experience managing government funding contracts and/or coordinating large coalitions strongly preferred
  • Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Excel
  • Strong writing, analytical and budgeting skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Interest in, experience with and/or commitment to grassroots efforts working towards social justice
