Multisystemic Therapy Clinician

Put your experience and creativity to work as part of our supportive and caring children’s mental health organization. Join the Alliance for Inclusion and Prevention (AIP), a private non-profit agency working with at-risk children and youth in Boston, MA and the surrounding area. We are seeking a culturally competent therapist with strong mental health clinical skills to be part of a team of therapists implementing Multisystemic Therapy (MST).

MST is a well-researched community and home-based treatment model directed at youth with serious behavioral difficulties and their family. Caseloads are kept very small (5-6) in order to do very intensive family work. Interested persons may locate information about this treatment model on the internet at www.mstservices.com. For more information about AIP, please visit our website at www.aipinc.org.

Duties include providing each family with home-based family therapy and parental coaching several times per week for 3-5 months. MST works to increase parenting skills related to directiveness, affective warmth, and increased child monitoring. MST is an ecological model which seeks to engage youth in positive peer relationships and prosocial activities related to their interests and talents, as well as liason with collaborating agencies and other stakeholders. All of these evidence-based elements are shown to result in significantly better long-term outcomes than conventional therapiesas measured up to 20 years post-treatment. This is a great opportunity to develop sophisticated family therapy skills using the most extensively researched and evidence-based intervention for troubled youth and their families as used in more than a dozen countries.

This position requires a Master's degree in either clinical social work or counseling. Licensure as LICSW, LCSW or LMHC is preferred but not required. MST clinicians are provided with intensive training in the model (9 days during the first year) and receive 3 hours of LICSW supervision per week. Clinicians set their own schedules.

Please indicate any foreign language proficiency in a cover letter. Home-based services to be provided in Boston and surrounding areas. Reliable transportation is necessary. Mileage reimbursement provided. This position is full-time with excellent salary and benefits.

Please submit CV and Cover letter (required)

Please indicate in your cover letter whether you speak Spanish or other languages and your level of fluency.

AIP is an Equal Opportunity Employer strongly committed to workplace diversity.
