Job Opportunity: Office Manager/Executive Assistant
Where: Center for Study of Responsive Law
The Center for Study of Responsive Law was founded by Ralph Nader in 1968 as his principal office. Since then it has sponsored a wide variety of books, organizing projects, litigation and has hosted hundreds of conferences focusing on government and corporate accountability. One of the Center’s primary goals is to empower citizens. The Center focuses on a variety of environmental, consumer and worker health and safety issues.
Start Date: Between August 13 and September 3
Position: Support progressive citizen campaigns on vital issues. Areas of focus include: raising the minimum wage, instituting a financial transaction tax, challenging excessive executive compensation, promoting corporate accountability, advancing consumer protection, and more. Tasks include: coordinating media outreach, scheduling, conducting research for weekly columns, editing and fact-checking books, reports and articles, conducting daily research and information gathering, planning and organizing events, and office support tasks as needed.
Responsibilities: Answering telephones, coordinating media outreach, scheduling, conducting research for weekly columns, editing and fact-checking, conducting daily research and information gathering, planning and organizing events, ordering office supplies, supporting progressive citizen campaigns to raising the minimum wage, instituting a financial transaction tax, challenging excessive executive compensation, promoting corporate accountability, advancing consumer protection, etc.
This position is one of two positions titled Office Manager/Executive Assistant. One Office Manager works from 9am-6pm, one Office Manager works 10am -7pm, Monday through Friday.This application would be for the Office Manager working the 10am-7pm shift.
