Its flagship transitional work program-- Ready, Willing & Able-- integrates paid work, occupational training, and holistic supportive services to facilitate an individual’s return to mainstream society. The program has been replicated in cities across the country.


The Doe Fund has an annual operating budget of $55 million and a full-time staff of 400.


The Doe Fund is currently seeking a high-energy, self-motivated Senior Food Services Coordinator to join our team. This position will be based out of our Gates Avenue, Brooklyn, New York location.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Maintains highs standards of quality of food production through various methods of cooking, purchasing, staff development and trainee direction.
  • Responsible for all budgetary goals for food, supplies and overtime.
  • Maintain all records assuring that his department is compliant with all city and state regulations.
  • Performs various methods of cooking including, but not limited to, baking, steaming, roasting, frying, grilling, etc.
  • Health consciously prepares a variety of items including meats, vegetables, casseroles, grains, sauces, soups, desserts, breads and other foods using scratch method.
  • Exercises quality assurance methods of food production including, but not limited to, batch cooking, temperature checks and product labeling.
  • As requested, writes and directs use of standardized recipes.
  • Provides work direction to the assigned kitchen’s staff and trainees and assumes supervision of staff and trainees at all times.
  •  Maintains a schedule and ADP for staff at all times.
  • Enforces safe and sanitary methods of cleaning and using equipment.
  • Cleans and sanitizes work area, kitchen, and equipment daily.
  • Maintains safe and sanitary food handling in storage, production and serving areas.
  • Participates in providing timely and sufficient dining room service and provides direction for staff and trainees for the same.
  • Provides and promotes customer oriented service and assistance whenever needed.
  • Maintains regular communication with facility director and staff to assure a flexible food service program designed to meet changing needs.
  • Responsible for any requests given by the director of the facility or the food service director.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Culinary Training from accredited training program. 
  • Must have Drivers licenses, Serve Safe and food handlers . 
  • Minimum of five years of food service experience and a minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to respond to various levels of volume. 
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 30-40 pounds on a regular basis. 
  • Must demonstrate interpersonal skills and the ability to provide written and verbal communication. 
  • Must be computer literate to send emails and record vital statistics.
