SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:The Agency Trainer will work as part of a collaborative team to deliver agency training's to new hires, foster parents, recertification classes, and ongoing professional development cohorts.


  • Deliver stand up training in a professional and knowledgeable manner
  • Provide training that is current and continuously updated, being responsive to changing needs of the agency and its authorizing entities
  • Maintain electronic employee training files including, but not limited to, issuing certificates upon completion and updating Human Resources records as needed
  • In concert with the Assistant Director of Training and Director of Training, determine agency training needs and deliver comprehensive regularly scheduled trainings for all agency departments
  • Participate on committees that identify training needs, as requested by supervisors
  • Recognize that the agency provides 24 hour - 7 day/week programs and provide flexible training hours as appropriate to meet employee needs
  • Seek and maintain ongoing certifications as train the trainer in required applications
  • Attend required training
  • Read required books
  • Responsible for complying with rules and regulations governing access to Protected Health Information under HIPAA. Access to Protected Health Information is limited to the extent required to perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently. No access will be permitted unnecessarily. These essential job functions dictate the level of access, use, and disclosure of confidential information
  • Perform other duties as requested by your immediate supervisors or the Chief Executive Officer

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, five years’ Human Service experience preferred
  • 2 years' presentation training experience, particularly in the areas of working with youth in the juvenile justice or child welfare system is a plus
  • Additional trainer certifications will include Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), required to be completed within first six months of employment
  • Computer proficiency (PowerPoint, Excel Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word)
  • Ability to handle confidential material in a responsible manner
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License
  • Ability to travel to all agency locations as required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
