Stamford Youth Tennis Academy is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to manage an increasingly respected organization in Stamford CT, helping economically challenged kids between 7 and 15 to find and follow a vision to a successful base which will break the cycle of poverty. The Stamford Youth Tennis Academy provides a number of free programs which bring the manifold benefits of racket sports, together with homework, reading and math assistance, to Stamford children from low income families. Reporting to the Board President, the Executive Director will work in conjunction with the other board members to provide leadership, vision, and manage operations.
Business & Management
The Executive Director, with a part time staff, is responsible for the business and administrative activities of the organization. This may include the purchasing, contracting, accounts & records, planning and execution of programs in an efficient and effective manner.
Development and Grant Writing
In conjunction with board members, the Executive Director will be responsible for continuing and growing our grant support and all other fund raising activities. This includes relationships with other like nonprofits, USTA Foundation, USTA, USTPA, The Connecticut Alliance for Tennis nd Education, and others.
Community Initiatives and Relationships
The Executive Director represents and speaks for the organization to the community. This includes not for profits, business leaders, schools, churches and government. Of particular importance is to keep up with and grow community relationships that include:
· 100 Black Men of Stamford
· Boys and girls Club of Stamford
· Beyond Limits Academics
· Town of Stamford, including Fire, Police and Parks Department and local elementary schools
Competitive tennis or teaching experience are preferred, but not required
