Background

The Frick Collection is an art museum consisting of more than 1,400 works of art from the thirteenth to the nineteenth century, displayed in the intimate surroundings of the former home of Henry Clay Frick. The residence, with its furnishings and works of art, has been open to the public since 1935. The Frick Art Reference Library is an internationally-recognized research library that serves as one of the most complete resources for the study of Western art. Founded in 1920, the Library today holds more than one million study photographs, 285,000 books, 80,000 auction catalogs, and 2,250 periodical titles. It is open to interested individuals from all over the world.


Position Summary

This position is responsible for handling the organizational and logistical details of the relationship between The Frick Collection and its corporate and foundation donors as well as individual donors. The Manager of Corporate and Foundation Relations reports to the Head of Leadership Gifts. S/He will work closely with the Head of Leadership Gifts on raising funds for restricted purposes such as special exhibitions, education, and library projects and will be responsible for overseeing the Corporate Membership program.


Requirements

The Manager of Corporate and Foundation Relations must be a highly organized and detailed-oriented individual with the ability to work proactively and independently and to be a collegial and collaborative member of the External Affairs Team. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the humanities. Minimum of two years’ grant-making experience, preferably in a cultural institution. Excellent writing skills. Successful track record in writing grant proposals and building and maintaining relationships with corporate and foundation funders and other constituents. Background or interest in visual arts preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines. Computer literacy in a Windows environment/Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Raiser’s Edge or other databases useful.
