National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) Finance manages the financial transactions of the Association, including preparation of internal and external financial statements, financial administration of NAAG’s federal grants, accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), payroll, and management of the Association’s financial database systems.


  • Review invoices and expense requests, paying attention to proper back-up
  • Code and charge expenses to correct accounts and programs
  • Load reviewed and approved expenses into the accounting system
  • Prepare and maintain spreadsheets containing a large amount of data that will be loaded into the GL
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
  • Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls
  • Reconcile A/P accounts including corporate credit cards
  • Assist Controller in preparing audit schedules


  • Prepare and send meeting and dues invoices, verify transaction information, compute charges and refunds
  • Collect and deposit all checks to the appropriate bank account and process all other cash receipts (Credit Card, ACH) and post to the organization’s accounting system
  • Post receipts to the registration system and reconcile to the bank statement and Accounting system
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve discrepancies
  • Work closely with meeting planner and program staff to ensure accurate billing
  • Follow procedures to adhere to internal controls and policies
  • Reconcile A/R accounts
  • Assist Controller in preparing audit schedules
  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis and reports on expenses such as meeting expenses, case expenses and telephone and  copier usage
  • Assist in budget preparation
  • Perform other tasks based on the needs of the Association
