Communications and Donor Relations Manager

Job Summary:

CERI is a community mental health center that overflows with love and compassion. It is a sanctuary for many immigrant and refugee communities where healing takes place through building active forms of solidarity across different generations and communities.

We seek a dynamic, outgoing and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about serving refugee and immigrant families to join our caring and committed staff. The Communications and Donor Relations Manager is responsible for all external communication and marketing efforts including social media, plans and organizes fundraising activities, and manages the development budget and donor relationships.   

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Help our donors accomplish their charitable goals and ambitions through a relationship with our organization
  • Work with the Board of Directors and Executive Director to develop and execute the annual fundraising plan for both individual donors and private foundations
  • Generate new ideas that increase revenue and donor loyalty for consideration in the annual fundraising plan
  • Identify and build relationships with new and prospective donors; maintain and steward relationships with existing donors
  • Manage systems and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects, including the donor database and wealth screening tools
  • Recruit, train, and support key volunteers to assist in advancement efforts
  • Oversee website development and maintenance (SquareSpace) 
  • Manage the process for maximizing funding from private foundations, including research, grant writing, grants management and submission of all grant reports 
  •  Lead social media strategy and create regular social media content with the support of CERI's staff.
  • Determine marketing strategies and direct public relations campaigns

Job Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to document all services accurately and manage multiple projects, deadlines and responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and a systems thinker.
  • Ability to work effectively with CERI"s board, staff and volunteers.
  • Understanding and supportive of CERI's mission.
  • Reliable transportation for travel within the Bay Area

Preferable Experience: 

  • Previous experience in working with immigrant and refugee communities
  •  Previous experience in nonprofit management and development
  • Nonprofit and donor relations experience.
  • Previous experience in communications and marketing
  • Experience with social media strategy and donor management software is a plus
  • Experience with CRMs and/or donor management software a plus
