Description

Lyon College seeks a Director/Engagement Officer for Gift Programs to provide oversight and strategic direction for the Office of Gift Programs. Reporting to the Vice President for Advancement, the Director is critical to a proactive program of engagement for Lyon’s various donors.


The Director is responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive program to build and retain Lyon’s base of donors. The Director will coordinate a year-round acquisition, cultivation and retention program that will involve personal solicitation, direct mail, and all forms of multi-channel donor cultivation, solicitation and retention. Collaboration with affinity groups (athletic, Greek, academic, etc) are required including special ‘mini’ campaigns such as affinity challenge initiatives. A strong working relationship with marketing is required to design and execute giving programs. The Director will manage student callers. Extensive travel and face-to-face cultivation and solicitation is required.


The successful candidate will have at least a Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in a similar position, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse range of individuals. The ability to manage time and multiple tasks and strong customer-service skills are also essential to the position.
