Salary Range: $90,000 depending on experience

Organization Overview

The mission of the REFORM Alliance is to dramatically reduce the number of people who are unjustly under the control of the criminal justice system – starting with probation and parole. To win, we are leveraging our considerable resources to change laws and policies while changing hearts and minds.

REFORM’s founding partners include award-winning recording artist Meek Mill; Philadelphia 76ers co-owner and Fanatics executive chairman Michael Rubin; entrepreneur and business mogul Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter; Kraft Group CEO and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft; Brooklyn Nets co-owner and philanthropic investor Clara Wu Tsai; Third Point LLC CEO and founder Daniel S. Loeb; Galaxy Digital CEO and founder Michael E. Novogratz; Vista Equity Partners founder, chairman, and CEO Robert F. Smith. CNN host and activist Van Jones is the CEO.

Purpose:

REFORM seeks a National Campaign Manager to lead our state and federal criminal justice reform efforts across the country. We hope to build a national network of grassroots groups/organizations from across the US, which are primarily led or managed by people who have been directly impacted by the criminal justice system.  We’re looking for strong writers with an inclination toward strategic organizing. The right candidate will be committed to getting results in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle competing priorities. This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a strong interest in digital organizing and the field of racial justice. This role requires extensive travel.

The National Campaign Manager will help to build a network, engage groups and enlist their support in educating state and federal lawmakers about criminal justice issues.  REFORM will amplify partners’ work and consult them in identifying the most pressing and winnable issues. Through the network, we maintain a direct line of communication with those who can speak personally and forcefully on the impact that incarceration has on a person’s family, future, and community.

The National Campaign Manager will work with REFORM staff and partners to monitor the development of legislative and administrative actions at the state and national levels, lead strategic campaign planning efforts, mobilize constituencies and build coalitions with grassroots and policy experts in local, state and federal jurisdictions nationwide.

The National Campaign Manager will also play a hands on role in communications and digital media, leading local press outreach, guide digital strategy and develop messaging and marketing materials in collaboration with other staff, partners and external consultants/vendors.

The National Campaign Manager will craft grassroots campaigns, and liaise with elected leaders to introduce, pass, and support criminal justice legislation. Candidates must be strong writers, have excellent research skills, and comfortable working under multiple, competing deadlines. Candidates who have been personally impacted by the criminal justice system and/or are deeply committed to bipartisan reform efforts are encouraged to apply. We also look for people comfortable working with a small, fast-paced and highly dedicated team.
