The Fund for Educational Excellence (Fund) is currently seeking an accomplished, go-getting Learning Community Coordinator. This person will work with Baltimore City Public Schools’ Office of College and Career Readiness to support a learning community of approximately 12 schools using improvement science to accelerate 9th grade On Track to Graduate outcomes, including student graduation and post-secondary engagement. The Learning Community Coordinator oversees the day-to-day logistical management of the initiative in partnership with the schools, CCR office, and other district office partners. The Learning Community Coordinator is a full-time employee of the Fund and works under the general supervision of the Fund. The position is housed full-time at Baltimore City Public Schools (City Schools) and will report on a day-to-day basis to the Learning Community Manager.

An ideal candidate has a track record of supporting and managing complex projects while working with a range of stakeholders. They should be experienced with managing the scheduling and logistics of meetings and/or site visits, and communicating with a variety of stakeholders. 


The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000. This is a grant funded position.


Core responsibilities:

  • With the Learning Community Manager, creates and manages a project plan for the network
  • Manages the scheduling and organization of monthly convenings, including managing ordering and budget, calendar invitations, arranging the space and set up, and working with partners as needed
  • Supports with communications between the network lead and school teams, including scheduling coaching visits, sharing updates as needed, and supporting the development and management of a system to codify and share work across the network and beyond
  • Manages the budget, including funding for the schools as part of the CI work
  • Develops and plans logistics of site visits, including messaging to schools, creating agendas, capturing learning, and supporting reimbursement process
  • Tracks deadlines and deliverables and coordinates updates for internal and external partners as needed
  • Coordinate improvement work with partners
  • Comfortable working with various technology platforms for meetings and day-to-day engagement
  • Work with district offices, including the Office of Teaching & Learning, Schools Office, and the Office of Achievement and Accountability, to use data in improvement projects


The candidate must have a proven track record in each of the following areas:

·       Communications skills: Be able to articulate complex ideas concisely to a variety of stakeholders including district leadership, partners, and funders (5+ years experience). 

·       Solutions-orientation: has a track record of problem-solving and works well with others to move work despite obstacles and achieve results (5+ years experience). 

·       Multi-tasking skills: Demonstrate 5+ years of strong organizational skills with the ability to manage workflow, handle multiple tasks and projects, anticipate and plan for potential obstacles, and meet competing deadlines 

·       Strategic thinking: Must have 5+ years of experience with moving projects or initiatives forward in a way that aligns with an overall organization vision. 

·       Equity focused: must be focused on supporting work toward equity in the district 

·       Writing: should be able to communicate clearly and succinctly in writing (5+ years experience).
