Macalester College is seeking to hire a Grants Manager to coordinate all aspects of the implementation of the Department of Justice’s Office of Violence Against Women grant awarded to the college for the period of October 1, 2021-September 30, 2024. 

 This position is 0.75 full time for the duration of the grant and will work closely with Health & Wellness/Sexual Respect, Title IX and nondiscrimination, Department of Multicultural Life, International Student Programs, Center for Religious and Spiritual Life, Public Safety, Residential Life as well as community partners. 


Facilitate a Community Coordinated Response:

  • Provide a comprehensive coordinated community approach involving members from the external and internal memorandum of understandings (MOUs) in coordination with Title IX Coordinator and Director of Health Promotion and Sexual Respect. 
  • Schedule meetings, coordinate communication, and develop pathways that can remain post-grant.  
  • Coordinate shared training opportunities for campus community members engaged in responding to and preventing sexual violence, relationship violence, and stalking.

Prevention and Intervention:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Health Promotion and Sexual Respect in the development of and/or adapt and provide developmental, culturally appropriate, and linguistically accessible print and electronic materials to address both prevention of and response to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual violence, and stalking.
  • Develop and adapt population-specific strategies and projects for victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking for traditionally de-centered populations on campus.

Grant Administration: 

  • Support grant implementation activities.
  • Draft interim and final grant reports.
  • Serve as primary liaison with Office of Violence Against Women. 
  • Coordinate team travel to and attend five technical assistance training meetings in Washington DC. 
  • If appropriate, lead grant renewal efforts.


  • Perform needs assessment to determine needs and opportunities related to internal and external collaboration, training, and communication for prevention and response.
  • Coordinate with Institutional Research on relevant climate surveys.
  • Work with Public Safety and Environmental Health & Safety to develop a plan for on-going assessment of physical safety on campus.
  • Collaborate on program evaluation of prevention programming.


  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s or other advanced degree preferred. 
  • Understand dynamics of sexual violence, relationship violence, and stalking on college campuses.
  • Experience with Title IX, primary prevention training, victim/survivor advocacy work, grants etc. 
  • Ability to manage a complex set of projects with coordination of both internal (college) and external (community) partners. 
  • Ability to synthesize process and outcomes for interim and final grant reports; ability to strategize coordination between internal (college) and external (community) partners.\

Compensation & Benefits: 

This position is 0.75 with a grant appointed salary of $44,000 for the year. Additionally, this role offers access to Macalester’s full benefits package.
