About the programs

The Course presents an engaging, interdisciplinary curriculum for students across the world who are united in their goals to become changemakers. This 15-week class will broaden perspectives on environmentalism, illustrate the link between sustainability and social justice, and sharpen critical thinking and communication skills.

Participants will enjoy a dynamic educational experience wherein they gain environmental knowledge from experts in the field, inspiration from changemakers, and a toolkit for developing empowered leadership through experiential workshops.

Students will also read and reflect upon academic material and complete a final project of their own choosing to put their course knowledge into practice. Ultimately, the course will facilitate deep discussion and reflection among these emerging leaders and enable them to fully actualize their ability to positively impact people and the planet.

Project Green Challenge (PGC) is Turning Green’s annual month-long competition during October. For the past 10 years, PGC has engaged thousands of students around the globe through simple, relevant, high-impact sustainability-themed challenges, covering topics from personal health to food, fair trade to biomimicry, energy to fashion, and more. The challenge culminates with a 4-day eco-summit in the Bay Area for up to 16 outstanding students who go on to lead climate action projects. This year as a result of Covid, our PGC Finals will be held virtually in April 2021.
