To help advance our work in New York, we are seeking a motivated self-starter with a strong interest in helping to advance our invasive species field work throughout the Adirondack region of upstate New York. The Terrestrial Invasive Species Project Coordinator is a lead team member of the Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program, working with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to protect the Adirondack region from the impact of invasive species. They will plan and direct terrestrial invasive species management programs, address critical threats to natural systems and individual species, foster cross-site learning among the conservation community, and engage with community members.

 

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in natural resource management with a focus on terrestrial invasive species or similar field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing natural systems.
  • Experience managing staff, contractors or volunteers.
  • Experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with in Geographic Information Systems and field data collection techniques.
  • Experience in training and formal presentation design/delivery.         
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
