Coordinates and monitors manuscripts submitted to Crest Books, primarily responsible for working with authors, editors, production and printing personnel for Crest Books and Word & Deed Journal so all issues are produced effectively from conception to final distribution; develops content and rough layout for The War Cry and communicates with The War Cry; performs copyediting of manuscripts for books and journal - seeing books and journals through the publishing process; corrects manuscripts as necessary and updates formats as needed; formats in electronic mode each issue of Word & Deed; responsible for copyediting of The War Cry; edits, proofs, revises and corrects page production files for The War Cry; responsible for updating and maintaining the department's style manual; ensures all correspondence for Crest Books and Word and Deed is handled and tasks completed. 


Secures copyright requirements for Crest Books and Word & Deed as well as Library of Congress cataloging-in-publication data in ISBN numbers. 


Education and Experience:

Degree from an accredited college or university in English, journalism, publishing, or a related field and at least two years' experience performing journalism, publishing and editing/proofing work. 


Knowledge of desktop publishing techniques and software (inDesign preferred). Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of the principles and practices of the publication production process.
