The Client Service Coordinator is specific to the Empowerment Program run by Friendship House at the New Castle County Hope Center. The purpose of this program is to assist all Hope Center guests with needed resources to help them find stable living in preparation for finding permanent housing.

Client Service Coordinators are expected to have a high level of patience, compassion, work ethics, boundaries, and professionalism. Due to the potential intense level of expected output and the vulnerable population served at the Hope Center, these attributes are critical for success.

The Client Service Coordinators work closely with Friendship House Case Managers. The Case Managers outline the recommended resources for each guest and the Client Service Coordinators will help facilitate access to those resources as requested. As well as monitoring and ensuring those entering the building through the guest entrance are approved guests.

The specific tasks and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide food and coffee to guests
  • Food is catered for guests and must be unloaded and delivered in a specific process
  • Work closely with case management to ensure guests stay on tasks and receive access to resources as needed
  • Client Service Coordinators should work with Case Management to communicate knowledge learned through guests
  • Follow up with all rule infractions to ensure options are provided
  • All case managers will work with connecting guests to options upon rule infraction
  • When a case manager is not on site make note of any rule infractions that require follow up by Case Manager
  • Assist with basic maintenance and cleaning.
  • Ensure every guest that enters the building through the guest entrance is COVID screened and checked against our master list of guests allowed in the building
  • Properly fill in and utilize the Guest Log in Google Sheets
  • Track all donations given to the Hope Center and ensure the details of each gift is passed onto the Supervisor
  • Follow up on guests not seen or heard from and ensure supervisor is made aware of absences
  • Deescalate issues as they arise, and help prevent issues, keeping guests and safe staff when there are issues, concerns and emergencies
  • Report all incidents in the shared Shift Report
