The role of the Vocational/ Recreational Coordinator is to assist youth in developing vocational objectives and co-creating with them S.M.A.R.T. Action plans to help them achieve their goals. The Vocational Recreational Coordinator helps the youth to discover interest and talents that can lead to career opportunities and shaping of positive socialization and recreation through interviews, surveys and exploration of interests. The Vocational/ Recreation Coordinator assists the youth in searching, applying and interviewing for employment and activities leading to employment (i.e., resume and interview prep.) as well as locating career development programs that can build job readiness and preparedness skills. The Vocational Recreational Coordinator creates a schedule of new and different experiences that can pique the youth’s interest an open them to life enhancing and transformational opportunities. Modeling of dependable, responsible, professional and accountable behavior, positive program norms and teamwork primacy; supports Graham mission and vision; contributes to and carries out components of the Campus Excellence Plan. Other duties as assigned.




A passion for working with promising youth and possess a strong belief in their ability to grow and change; Bachelor level degree required; Demonstrates successful experience in working with youth in the recreational and vocational arena; Demonstrated ability to function in a team setting; Ability to work well with promising youth from many diverse backgrounds;

High level of energy and creative initiative; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Self-motivation; a good manager of time able to manage deadlines, good organizational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues and community based resources; Must possess a valid state driver’s license


An applicant for employment will not be hired if his or her driving record reflects any of the following infractions; some examples include but are not limited to:

•         Suspended, revoked or otherwise invalid license

•         Reckless , high risk or otherwise unsafe driving behavior within the past 3 years

•         6 or more points on license 




Are Bilingual; Have knowledge of OCFS regulations and mandates ; Previous experience in: community organizing, political campaigns and/or customer service ; Have prior experience with the Juvenile Justice or Prison systems.
