Accounting Manager

Position Overview

Arnold Ventures is seeking an adaptable and motivated individual who will assist Arnold Ventures’ Accounting Team with month-end procedures, financial reporting, compliance and operational-related activities.

Core Responsibilities

• Performing various month-end and year-end close procedures, consistently, timely and accurately; close procedures include (but not limited to): bank and investment account reconciliations; record monthly investment activity including bonds, stock holdings, credit facilities, and oil and gas royalty investments, fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules, grants payable reconciliation and individual and consolidated financials for all AV entities
• Assist with creating annual operational team budgets and load budgets into accounting system
• Prepare various monthly and quarterly cost tracking overviews and budget-to-actual reports;
• Improve and systematize reports generated in accounting system, as well as creating innovative financial dashboards for internal use;
• Prepare insurance schedules for annual renewal process; maintain documents and records of insurance policies;
• Assist in completing tax schedules, including tax compliance calculations, investment data overviews, and other necessary items required for tax returns;
• Create schedules and document internal controls for an internal and external audit; and,
• Monitor accounting developments, tax changes, and trend analyses affecting private foundations and all AV entities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance
• 3-5 years of accounting experience
• Experience with leading system implementations and process improvements
• Exceptional project management and organization skills
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities
• Mastery of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other standard computer software
