ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

Amigos de Jesús (ADJ) is a faith-based home and bilingual school for vulnerable children in Honduras with a US corporate office. We are passionate about our mission and committed to the 150 children who are part of our Honduran family.

JOB LOCATION & TIMING

ADJ US office (currently in Hatboro, PA), or partially remote, depending on COVID restrictions. Even when remote, brief COVID-safe visits to the office required to process mail and checks. Planning to wrap up search by end of April 2021. Interview process will be conducted virtually.

 

POSITION

We are seeking a high-energy employee with experience juggling multiple tasks while working closely and collaboratively with a small team of colleagues; a highly organized jack of all trades who thrives in a job where every day is different. The Operations Coordinator reports to the President & CEO.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General office management & administrative support

·       Answering phones (currently remotely), ordering supplies, and managing office equipment

·       Provide support to President and CEO on projects and administrative tasks

·       Assist in scheduling meetings

·       Support board meeting preparation

·       Maintain a very active master calendar

Finance

·       Provide bookkeeping and administrative support to Amigos’ outsourced bookkeeper and CFO, Your Part-Time Controller (YPTC) including providing expense documentation and invoices

·       Prepare vendor invoices and staff reimbursements for payment

·       Maintain digital and paper accounting files

·       Prepare and make bank deposits

·       Organize contracts, invoices

IT/Communications

·       Support introduction of donor related materials such as e-newsletter, email announcements, constant contact

·       Contribute to social media posts and other communications

·       Provide website support

·       Maintain Office 365 licenses

·       Interface with outsourced IT consultant

Fundraising

·       Provide administrative support to all fundraising activities

·       Cultivate positive relationships with donors

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

·       Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, QuickBooks Online) and ability to learn other computer programs quickly and autonomously

·       Well-developed thinking, writing, and speaking skills including business communication and interaction skills that are professional, effective, and courteous.

·       Excellent organization skills; high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

·       Project management and ability to multi-task

·       Basic bookkeeping skills

·       Motivated and able to take initiative

·       Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with teams

·       Commitment to the mission of Amigos de Jesus.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

·       College degree preferred or comparable work experience. We are most interested in a self-motivated individual who is very organized and has demonstrated multi-tasking skills.

·       Experience/knowledge of nonprofit organizations, international work and some Spanish are a plus but not required.

 

SALARY AND BENEFITS

$37,000. After a one month waiting period, benefits are available including paid time off, health and dental insurance, short and long-term disability and retirement plan.
