Washington Global PCS is recruiting a Master Math Teacher to provide academic and behavioral support to our students for the 2021-2022 school year. Washington Global is seeking motivated staff that are committed to the school’s mission of preparing all students to be successful in high school, careers, and beyond with our global curriculum, and will bring professionalism, urgency, and dedication to the school environment.

All staff are expected to work collaboratively within our professional learning community (PLC).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • History of delivering effective, research-based instruction to students in an urban school setting, both virtually and in-person.
  • Implement detailed lessons and activities aligned with grade level academic standards, as well as having technology platforms integrated for engaging lessons.
  • Mentor and coach math teachers at the School.
  • Possess a proficiency in providing in-person/ hybrid/virtual/ distance learning.
  • Work collaboratively with Special Education and other grade-level Teachers to design data driven lessons that are differentiated and meet all standards and objectives.
  • Provide direct support to all students by delivering extra enrichment, support, or variation of instruction, as well as ensuring active learning is occurring through a variety of models and strategies within all grade levels.
  • Implement various assessments which measure student progress toward academic standards, and utilize assessment data to track any student misinterpretation.
  • Use student data to inform and refine daily instruction.
  • Demonstrate the ability to uphold and carry out initiatives aligned with the school’s mission and vision.
  • Actively participate in ongoing professional development, including various modalities of coaching; receive and provide critical feedback and implement all learning in the classroom; participate in grade-level team meetings and student-focused meetings.
  • Promote family engagement by developing a partnership with parents/guardians through ongoing positive communication and other activities that encourage active participation in student learning.
  • Demonstrate dedication to the Professional Learning Community (PLC) by supporting school-wide initiatives and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or similar field required.
  • DC Praxis Passing Score in Math.
  • Three or more years of experience (preferably in an urban setting).
  • Experience with Response To Intervention (RTI) and implementing rigorous Math Academic programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with students and families from diverse backgrounds.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS

This position has/has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Salary

At least $67,000Additional stipends are available for extra duties within the School.
