The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people. We are a non-profit that provides 24/7 life-saving support via phone, text and chat. We also operate the world’s largest safe space social networking site for LGBTQ youth and run innovative research, education and advocacy programs. We’ve been saving lives every day for almost 20 years.

Overview of the role

People are at the core of what we do. The People Associate will support in building upon and executing a strategy to promote an innovative, high performing and supportive culture that aligns with the strategic priorities of the organization. You will help us recruit, hire, develop and retain a diverse group of exceptional people to support our life-saving work. You will also work closely with others to improve the ways by which we support staff including through professional development and core payroll/benefits processes.

What you’ll do:

  • Clearly articulate to external audiences Trevor’s mission, the work that we do, and the opportunities for amazing people to join Team Trevor
  • Develop and execute strategies to build a talented and diverse candidate pipeline
  • Support full-cycle recruitment for roles within the organization, including but not limited to, coordinating and conducting resume screens, scheduling and conducting phone interviews, and organizing in-person interviews
  • Create and roll-out initiatives to ensure that The Trevor Project has an inspiring, high-performance culture that develops and retains the world’s top talent
  • Identify areas for innovation across HR processes and develop and implement plans to address them
  • Support in developing and coordinating The Trevor Project’s intern program
  • Execute core people processes, including payroll and benefits administration
  • Analyze and use data and metrics to help inform decisions that affect the culture of the organization
