The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund is pleased to announce our search for a Program Manager for our office in Salem, MA. In addition to various administrative responsibilities, the Program Manager will be responsible for assisting with community outreach, alumni scholar relations, database management and our award process. The criteria and qualifications required for this position are outlined below: 

 Responsibilities Include:

Outreach - Identify and assist in the management of referral sources (schools, community-based organizations, etc.) for scholarship applicants; deliver presentations and conduct workshops in the community to attract and support scholarship candidates; and attend various scholarship functions and meetings to promote the scholarship and/or to meet recipients

Alumni Relations and Development – Work with Alumni Council to design and implement strategies to engage alumni scholars; manage all alumni communications and events: and assist in the design and implementation of new strategies to raise funds from alumni scholars

Award Processing - Assist in all aspects of preparing and processing awards (outreach, screening, review, and award preparation)

Data Management and Analysis - Oversee database maintenance making sure that all information is accurate and up-to-date; develop reports to track data and assess outcomes on a regular basis

Other Responsibilities – Assist in implementation of donor-funded programs; Provide email and phone support to students, families, counselors, and college access organizations interested in the Phillips Scholarship

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to speak effectively with diverse audiences
  • Knowledge or familiarity with the college financial aid process
  • Ability to write effectively
  • Ability to work effectively with small team
  • Detail oriented and highly motivated individual who takes initiative
  • Commitment to mission of the Phillips Scholarship Fund
  • Fluency with computers and computer software
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task or prioritize tasks
  • Knowledge of Salesforce preferred
