The Nonprofit Learning Lab is seeking an events and technology associate who will serve as a member of our program staff and assist with coordinating our virtual events. The person in this position works remotely for the time being. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, tech savvy, motivated, organized and enjoys helping others feel comfortable with technology. The person in this position is managed by our Senior Events and Staffing Manager.

Description

Areas of Responsibility

The areas of responsibility for the Virtual Event Coordination:

  1. In collaboration with our staff, provide logistical and administrative support to prepare for our virtual and eventual in person events.
  2. Set up meetings using Google Calendar
  3. Create files in G-suite and share with staff and clients
  4. Maintain spreadsheet of details on a daily basis related to events
  5. Attend event planning meetings with staff and collaborating organizations.
  6. Take notes during planning meetings and share with staff.
  7. Assist with sending follow up emails and coordinating logistics per our internal systems.
  8. These duties may include: assistance with setting up virtual event links, assistance with scripts, registration and technical support during virtual events.
  9. Coordinating rehearsals to ensure all presenters and staff are prepared for the event.
  10. Supporting organizations with their needs from start to finish with an event
  11. Video editing as needed
  12. Attend staff briefings and be prepared to provide updates on your tasks

Events are all virtual. This is a position for someone that is comfortable working in front of a computer for at least 3-4 hours at a time.

Requirements/Qualifications

  1. Ability to work well in a collaborative group and fast paced environment
  2. Detail oriented
  3. Ability to work remotely and get tasks done
  4. Experience using: Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom andGoogle Suite
  5. Experience providing customer support
  6. Ability to work independently
  7. Ability to complete tasks in timely fashion
  8. Experience supporting customers and/or volunteers
  9. Ability to send emails without grammatical error
  10. Ability to check work to ensure minimal amount of mistakes

 

Compensation/Benefits

Compensation:

  • $20/hour
  • Part time at 25-30 hours a week
  • Hours are between 7:30 am – 3:00 pm
  • Sometimes employees will be asked to work weekends for a few hours. All weekend hours are paid at time and a half. 
  • Once employee has demonstrated the ability to successfully implement their tasks they will be moved to full time. Typically this occurs at the 2-3 month review.
