Rutgers University-Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Staff Attorney.
The Child Advocacy Clinic (CAC) at Rutgers Law School is seeking to hire a Full-time Attorney. The Staff Attorney reports to the Director of the Rutgers Child Advocacy Clinic (CAC) and will work on two separate,but closely related projects involving immigrant children: (1) The Staff Attorney will recruit, train, and mentor pro bono immigration practitioners who are willing to represent immigration child clients where there is a potential claim for Special Immigration Juvenile Status (SIJS); and (2) the Staff Attorney will provide immigration representation to children in North Jersey who are in the custody of the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency.
This position is grant funded and contingent upon available funds.

JD, licensed to practice law in New Jersey or some other state
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of
experience in family law, some exposure to immigration law, excellent oral and written communication skills, speak
Spanish, and have had some supervisory and training experience.
The candidate should expect some travel to meetings and court.
