Overview of Program:

The Finance and Operations Departments are divisions of the Administrative Department. The Finance Department handles all the financial aspects of the agency; the Operations department handles all the Human Resources, Information Technology and Facilities Management aspects of the agency.


Overview of Position:

Under the direction of the Finance Director, the Payroll Accounting & HR Administrator will administer payroll processing and accounting. Under the direction of the Operations Director, the Payroll Accounting & HR Administrator will assist in onboarding and terminating employees in LifeWire’s benefits systems and support the posting of open positions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurate preparation, documentation, distribution, and reconciliation of payroll. Administration of the payroll system and coordinate payroll processing with an outside payroll service provider
  • Enter payroll activity into the accounting system.
  • Update payroll records and processes routine changes to employee records; maintenance of employee records in the payroll system.
  • Review the computation of pay and associated deductions for accuracy.
  • Research and resolve errors or omissions.
  • Prepare and maintain timesheet and payroll-related financial reports and records.
  • Maintain regular communication with agency staff regarding payroll deadlines.
  • Assist personnel with proper timesheet coding, processing and other timesheet-related activities.
  • Respond to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting
  • May prepare and submit reports and forms required by IRS or other regulatory bodies.
  • Assist in onboarding and terminating employees in LifeWire’s benefits systems by processing employees’ paperwork, entering and reviewing data entry related to benefits, and ensuring accurate documentation and filing of these changes for HR.
  • Assist in monitoring and processing HR and payroll-related employee changes for promotions, job changes, new hires and terminations.

Qualifications:

  • Skill in interpreting and applying basic accounting concepts.
  • Experience with use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with computerized financial record keeping systems.
  • Proven skills for attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational abilities, promptness, and dependability.
  • Demonstrated judgment, initiative, and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Commitment to LifeWire’s vision, mission, and racial equity values.
  • Pass LifeWire background check.
