Roles and Responsibilities

The Associate Program Manager – North Georgia Region, will be responsible for the strategic launch of the GivingPoint Institute in the following areas; North Fulton, Cherokee, and Forsyth Counties. The Associate Program Manager will work collaboratively and with the support of the other members of the GivingPoint Team; Director of Programs, Marketing & Communications Manager, Director of Outreach, and the Executive Director to create a comprehensive marketing and recruitment campaign and expansion plan to grow GivingPoint Institute and GP’s Social Innovators Academy in the North Georgia region. The Associate Program Manager will be expected to secure contacts and build relationships with public and private schools, school districts, business and nonprofit partners, and others to share the GivingPoint story, recruit students, build valuable partnerships, secure business sponsorships, and implement GivingPoint’s Social Innovators Academy curriculum. 

Job Tasks

School Engagement:

·       Identify key district- and school-based personnel for the region

·       Introduce above personnel to GivingPoint and GivingPoint Institute & Social Innovators Academy and GP’s Collaborative for Service Learning, including the benefit to both individual students and schools as a whole

·       Attend critical district- and school-based meetings in order to familiarize educational staff with the programs, the applicability, and the benefits

·       Cultivate relationships with educational personnel in each district and school

·       Create meaningful opportunities to share information about GP and GPI/SIA with parents, teachers, and students through targeted marketing and recruitment efforts in collaboration with Marketing and Communications Manager

·       Conduct trainings and informational sessions for district- and school-based staff, parents and students about GP’s volunteer hours tracking platform as well as the benefits of volunteer service

·       Identify service-based groups and organizations within each district and school and cultivate relationships with the teacher leaders and facilitators

·       Advocate for the implementation of required service programs within schools that do not currently have established programs, working with staff to support design and implementation

·       Work with MobileServe customer support staff to train school staff and student users on the MobileServe hours tracking platform

Teaching and Program Management:

·       Work with Director of Programs to develop a comprehensive understanding of the GPI/SIA curriculum and best practices for implementation

·       Identify and secure speakers and locations for workshops

·       Conduct workshops as needed when outside speakers are unavailable

·       Utilize curriculum components including case studies and projects to instruct students on the foundational skills necessary to implement their social impact project, awareness campaign or NPO.

·       Manage student groups effectively for optimal learning

·       Work with students one-on-one and in small groups to assist them in furthering their social innovations

·       Create systems to record and track impact data to provide to potential funders, inform budget development, report to donors, and measure growth

Community Engagement:

·       Identify critical community partners within the targeted geographic region and key personnel within those organizations

·       Conduct cold calls to introduce various organizations to GP and discuss potential partnership opportunities

·       Cultivate relationships with various nonprofit partners and identify those that could serve various roles such as mentoring students, presenting workshop content, working directly with students through service projects, and other opportunities

·       Attend community and civic events as deemed necessary to meet and connect with various organizations and individuals within selected region

·       Work collaboratively with Marketing and Communications Manager to develop key collateral to be shared at events and meeting with community nonprofit organizations

·       Identify local marketing opportunities; print, digital, flyers, etc. and work with Marketing and Communications Manager to ensure all avenues for exposure are being utilized

Resource Development:

·       Identify businesses within selected geographic region whose beliefs align with GivingPoint’s mission

·       Create compelling marketing collateral in collaboration with Marketing and Communications Manager to encourage local businesses to sponsor GPI/SIA and/or particular students within their community

·       Cultivate individual donors within the selected communities; building a strong base of support

·       Identify critical civic organizations and coordinate speaking engagements in collaboration with Executive Director in order to solicit financial support for GPI

·       Identify potential businesses to provide in-kind donations in areas such as; printing, food and beverage, office supplies, and others
