Community Reach of Montgomery County (REACH) seeks to improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable of Montgomery County residents by providing them with basic health and human services and advocating on their behalf, with the goal of helping them achieve and maintain self-sufficiency.

REACH is seeking to fill a Grants Manager position. This position is part-time, approximately 20 hours per week. 

The Grants Manager is responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to research, prepare, submit and manage grant proposals to government entities, foundations and other grant-making organizations while persuasively communicating REACH’s mission and programs to potential funders. Working closely with staff, the Grants Manager will research, write and edit grant applications. Further, the Grants Manager is responsible for maintaining a grant tracking chart including a calendar of submissions for new, existing grants, and other grant reporting deadlines.

Salary

The salary range for this position is $24-$30 per hour

Level of Language Proficiency

Qualifications

Bachelors degree required, preferably in English

3 - 4 years successful grant-writing experience strongly preferred

Non-profit fundraising experience strongly preferred

Proven proficiency of professional writing experience including successful proposals to institutional donors, grant writing or other technical writing experience

Knowledge/Skills

Strong writing, analytical and research skills are essential

Candidates must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and highly organized

Experience preferred in using online databases and other sources to locate biographical, financial and philanthropic information

High level of computer proficiency, with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, databases and familiarity with grants portal programs

A solid understanding of budgets and how they relate to proposals and grants

Experience in various portals and online applications strongly desired

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Excellent organizational and inter-personal skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines
