A small not-for-profit scholarship fund in Chicago is planning to introduce an additional scholarship offering, which will target students seeking post-high-school vocational training. We are looking for someone to assist in this launch. Starting Time: November 1, but flexible
Raise money (Goal TBD) by doing the following:
Research and identify vocational educational opportunities in the Chicago area and clarify enrollment requirements, including but not limited to: high school GPA, specific course completion, tuition, and job placement success.
Develop a fundraising/public relations plan, integrating the above information with knowledge of the culture of both the current student body and the possible donor base.
Seek new and develop existing donor relationships from the current alumni base and other community/neighborhood sources. In addition, identify and pursue possible grant opportunities and/or appropriate corporate funding sources.
Work with volunteer board and staff to implement plan.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or previous experience in a nonprofit organization
Strong commitment to educational development for high school students
Effective writing and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated strong computer skills and donor software
Ability to work with volunteer board
Board member in charge of corporate funding. Additional support and resources from staff.
Compensation is on a contract basis over a part-time 2-3 month period. $4500. Please send cover letter and resume to alumni@Matheralumni.org
