AsylumWorks is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to serve vulnerable immigrants residing in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia with a special focus on asylum-seeking men, women, and children. Founded in 2016, AsylumWorks was established to help individuals and families address urgent and unmet needs that can interfere with their health, safety, and ability to fully participate in the immigration legal process. To do this, AsylumWorks has developed a holistic suite of wraparound services that combine trauma-informed clinical case management, employment assistance, and community support proven to help clients regain confidence and control over their lives. When combined with immigration legal services, AsylumWorks’ approach has been shown to dramatically increase the likelihood that a vulnerable immigrant will prepare for and attend immigration proceedings. AsylumWorks clients are also significantly more likely to secure a permanent form of legal protection that offers a pathway to citizenship.

For most asylum seekers, rebuilding a life with dignity and purpose begins with finding a job. AsylumWorks offers two job readiness training programs: Reach Higher for English-speaking professionals and Path Forward for Speakers of Other Languages. Each program is aimed at helping clients find and keep jobs safe, legal, and meaningful employment.

The Employment Program Manager will oversee all aspects of this program including managing staff, directly implementing AsylumWorks’ Reach Higher program, coordinating Path Forward, and conducting outreach to external stakeholders and referral partners.
