Overview

American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), a membership organization dedicated to the advancement of women's health care in Washington, DC, is currently seeking a Program Administrator to coordine the College's global health portfolio by managing the programmatic work involved with creating and implementing technical packages of Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) interventions. The Program Administrator works independently and collaboratively with staff to plan, manage, and implement activities. This position is 50% grant-funded.



Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage and ensure successful implementation of ACOG's surgical training course in Uganda, learning and design/continuing medical education deliverables on WASH topics, in collaboration with ACOG Fellows plan and implement program interventions in Madagascar, and other projects as assigned.
  • Assist in the development of work plans and timelines, including identifying deliverables, tasks, accountabilities, and results indicators, and establishing mechanisms to ensure efficient work plan implementation.
  • Monitor program activities to ensure quality and accuracy of work outcomes with contractual and grant commitments.
  • Manage payments, subawards and contracts with international entities for program implementation.
  • Contribute to the documentation and knowledge sharing of program results with periodic progress reports to funder, donor or ACOG.
  • Liaise with Accounting to prepare monthly/quarterly invoices and monitor all grants and programmatic budgets.
  • Manage and execute travel plans for ACOG fellows including logistics, contracts for honoraria, and receipt of trip reports.
  • Plan and attend relevant partner meetings including donor meetings, stakeholder meetings, and partnership meetings to build productive relationships and seek new and meaningful opportunities for ACOG.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
  • Three or more years of global women's health program management
  • Ability and willingness to travel to support our international programmatic activities
  • Ability to read, write and speak other languages preferred. French is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of developing country contexts; direct experience in Africa a plus
  • High level of initiative and the ability to prioritize based on minimal direction and multiple competing priorities.
  • Must have solid understanding of basic database structure (tables, fields, etc.)
  • Experience with continuing education with physicians, nurses, and/or pharmacists.
  • Strong attention to detail, coordination of multiple projects and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic team oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of accounting and ledgers
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; familiarity with web site maintenance and electronic resources
