Development Lead

Position

The Development Lead is a salaried, exempt position that reports to the Director of Development. The Development Lead is responsible for raising funds by submitting quality grant applications and reports.

Essential Duties

• Work with the Director of Development to raise at least the budgeted amount from funders each year
• Nurture trusted relationships with corporations, foundations, individuals, and other types of donors who invest in our work
• Prepare high quality proposals and deliver pitches to current and prospective funders

Detailed Responsibilities

• Submit accurate grant applications and reports on time
• Build new relationships with institutions that will generate donations
• Collaborate with staff across other departments to gather data and content for grant materials, proposals, and reports
• Secure sponsorships for A4CB events
• Maintain detailed, organized funder records
• Report to donors as required
• Deliver clear messages for who we serve, the value we provide, and how we deliver that value effectively
• Promote the organization’s work at events and site visits that focus on fundraising or visibility
• Perform other duties flexibly and creatively as needs arise

The Development Lead should have:

• Excellent writing skills
• 3-5 years of experience raising funds from institutions
• 3-5 years of experience researching, articulating, formatting, and presenting compelling donor appeals
• Experience using technology to manage data related to potential and past donors

Salary and Benefits Information

The salary range for this position is $50,000 – $65,000 commensurate with experience and skillset. A4CB offers generous medical and dental insurance plans; offers a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan (with employer match); and provides excellent paid time off to its employees.
