The Coordinator of Communications and Outreach for the Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees (MFA) is an exciting position with a tremendous opportunity to work in efforts across the organization. S/he will be involved in a number of activities for MFA, among them supporting communications and media connections, managing our network of Participating Organizations, assisting with interfaith outreach and communications, helping organize Speaking Tours and other MFA events, and more.
Commitment to helping Syrians affected by the war, the ability to work independently, and personal drive are prerequisites, as our tight-knit team is looking for someone to help support our work in a variety of ways. Some experience dealing with the press would be preferred. We need someone with the ability to communicate efficiently, and who has an eagerness for the opportunity to work directly with our public relations firm, which is the largest in the world. You will have the opportunity to help develop MFA’s face to the public, as we together create a strategy for how MFA is presented to the world.
This is an opportunity for a motivated individual with experience in the nonprofit world to take the next step, and bring her/his enthusiasm to support many areas of MFA’s critical work. The Coordinator of Communications and Outreach will report to the Executive Director, and interact with each area of the organization, as s/he helps to craft language and develop innovative programming that raises awareness around the Syrian issue and funds to aid those affected.
The Coordinator of Communications and Outreach is an exempt position, which will be built around the skills, talents and experience of the appropriate candidate—with the opportunity for flexibility to accommodate the candidate’s personal needs.
The Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees (MFA), a project of the Tides Center, is a coalition of more than 95 faith-based and secular organizations. MFA’s mission is to mobilize the interfaith response to the Syrian humanitarian crisis, advocate for sensible and humane refugee policies, create awareness of the facts, needs, and opportunities for positive action, deliver humanitarian aid and raise funds for direct services on the ground, and cultivate groundbreaking partnerships in the region.
Compensation and benefits will be competitive, and along with the position itself will all be tailored to the individual candidate as the organization can be highly flexible to accommodate the needs and talents of the appropriate candidate.
