What will you do all day?

As a member of the IT Team, the Applications Developer II will play a critical role in supporting designing and implementing technology to expand the delivery capabilities of NMSI. This regular, full-time position reports to the Sr. Manager, Applications Development and is based out of a home office anywhere in the contiguous United States. 

 

What are the details? 

  • Working within project teams to determine needs and applying/customizing existing technology to meet those needs  
  • Maintaining and supporting multiple projects and deadlines  
  • Participate in system design and architecture  
  • Provide system support and troubleshooting  
  • Perform business data analysis, extracts, imports and reporting  
  • Adhere to production system change control processes (code and documentation)  
  • Analyze/evaluate third-party systems/modules for use in NMSI systems  
  • Provide consultation on complex projects as required  
  • Record work progress on a weekly basis  
  • Meet NMSI documentation standards and best practices  
  • Other duties as assigned 


What are we looking for? 

  • Education & Experience – Bachelors degree in Technology or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience). Minimum of 4 years in software and database development. Required skills include experience with  Microsoft technologies (C#, ASP.NET and SQL), JavaScript, MVC required. Prior experience using JQuery, HTML5, CSS3, and Azure DevOps is preferred. Experience in Angular highly preferred.  
  • Strategic Thinker – You demonstrate an analytical approach with a strong ability to uncover and resolve problems. You think analytically, prioritize tasks and develop processes that monitor progress and performance. You rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Organized & Productive – You demonstrate strong organizational skills while working in a fast-paced environment. You can work on multiple projects with multiple deadlines.  
  • Innovator – You can easily innovate and provide functional applications with intuitive interfaces. 
  • Communicator – You can effectively communicate complex technology concepts in laymen’s terms with the ability to construct user guides and documentation. You have strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Technical Expertise – You can complete all phases of the software development life cycle, including analysis, design, functionality, testing and support – and develop web applications. You can maintain style sheets and JavaScript files across websites. You possess current product/technology/industry knowledge. 

 

What do we offer?

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 per year.  At NMSI, we take pay equity seriously and work hard to ensure our team members are paid fairly no matter their gender, race, or other demographic backgrounds. In addition to a competitive salary with the potential for an annual pay increase, we offer a comprehensive total rewards package, including paying roughly 85% of employee-only medical, dental, and vision benefits plus a large portion for dependents. Staff are eligible to participate in 401(k) after 90 days of employment, with up to a 6% employee match, fully vested on day one of participation in the plan. Other benefits for full-time employees include referral and performance-based annual bonuses, telecommunications stipends for eligible remote employees, 14-16 paid holidays annually (including a week-long winter break), and a generous PTO policy starting at 18 days per year.
