About the Role


The Manager, Resource Mobilization will be a key member of the Resource Mobilization (RM) team, responsible for leading the organization’s grant proposal and report writing and ensuring appropriate stewardship of investment partners. 


The ideal candidate for this position is someone who loves to write with vision and precision, has experience creating successful proposals and communications for a variety of funders, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, innovative, start-up environment. This role will develop an in-depth understanding of Opportunity@Work’s strategic plan, product, and initiatives in order to contribute to the organization’s success.


This position can be based in Washington, D.C, the San Francisco/Bay Area, or remote and will report directly to the Senior Manager, Resource Mobilization, as well as collaborate with Senior Leaders and other Opportunity@Work teams on major proposals and reports. 



Key Responsibilities

Proposal/Grant Writing (50%)

  • Participate in prospect/donor meetings--assisting with meeting prep and taking notes to be incorporated in partnership proposals 
  • Contribute to the development of streamlined, cross-functional processes for proposal and grant development and submission
  • Lead on the research, writing, and editing process for major grants and proposals, including working closely with senior leaders to identify and articulate partnership and funding opportunities
  • Contribute to the development of a variety of collateral (grant proposals, outreach emails, presentations, sales collateral, and reports) for existing and potential corporate and foundation partners
  • Maintain language bank of updated information and materials pertinent to proposals and reports


Grant Management (20%)

  • Create reporting templates for grant managers to use to keep them on track with their reporting and meeting goals and objectives
  • Draft grant reports and incorporate feedback from grant managers
  • Serve as the RM liaison to various internal teams to ensure strong collaboration and communication across the organization

 

Research/Landscape Analysis (15%)

  • Prospect Research
  • Research prospective funders and partners; preparing detailed background materials to be used in meetings and proposals
  • Landscape Analysis
  • Research, document, and log what comparable organizations are doing in terms of Future of Work (FOW) initiatives, (including size and source of major gifts)
  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of corporations, workforce organizations (nonprofit and for-profit), foundations (corporate, social impact, private)


Salesforce Administration (15%) 

  • Work with Resource Mobilization Associate to maintain RM records in Salesforce
  • Memorialize emails, documents, logs in Salesforce, and support team members across the org in doing so as well

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • 3+ years of grant writing and reporting experience, preferably writing about a product or technical solution to a complex problem and/or for a social enterprise
  • Demonstrated ability to write successful grant proposals yielding six and seven-figure investments
  • Solid verbal and written communication; able to make complex topics clear and produce briefs, reports, and pitch decks equally well 
  • Capable of managing multiple projects from start to finish
  • Sound organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust, develop strong relationships and effectively grow business with partners or customers
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Energetic self-starter capable of identifying next steps and resolving problems proactively 
  • Agile and comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment 
  • Experience with Google Suite, Salesforce, Confluence, AirTable, or comparable tools preferred

Salary

$72,500 - $77,500
