DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR (FUNDRAISING)

The Development Coordinator is responsible for working with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, staff, alumni and volunteers to meet annual organizational fundraising goals. This position is responsible for coordinating special events, overseeing annual communications plan and social media outreach, managing donor database and providing fundraising support. 

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong writing, communications, and organizational skills who is seeking to build additional proficiency in donor relationship management, and development strategy. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Special Event Planning

·       Plan and implement all fundraising events including annual Maine Course Event, Golf Outing and virtual peer-to-peer fundraiser.

·       Serves as liaison and lead staff person to assist Event Committees and subcommittees in all areas of event planning to meet event fundraising goals.

·       Manage all logistics for Maine Course Event, Virtual 5K, and Golf Outing.

·       Create and maintain event planning timelines.

·       Solicit sponsor and auction donations.

·       Maintain event databases.

·       Organize and manage event volunteers.

·       Create event collateral materials including save the dates, invitations, programs, and signage. 

·       Works on-site at events, including volunteer management and donor relations.

 

Communications and Social Media

·       Create and Implement Annual Communication Plan for targeted constituencies.

·       Write and create email newsletters, e-news stories, and blog content to share Agassiz Village’s successes. Assist in story creation (written and video) for integrated website and fundraising content.

·       Create regular social media posts surrounding events, sponsors, donors and other fundraising related content on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. 

 

Fundraising 

·       Manage Bloomerang fundraising database including updating constituent records, gift entry, and reports as needed.

·       Generate timely gift acknowledgments for all donations.

·       Improve the cultivation and recognition of donors by identifying best practices for donor appreciation and stewardship. 

·       Support the identification and acquisition of new funders across sectors and the qualification of existing prospects or funders for increased funding and deeper partnerships 

 

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE DESIRED 

·       Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent prior experience

·       One to two years of non-profit fundraising/development experience with proven track record of successful special event planning

·       Familiarity with youth development programs

·       Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team

·       Excellent organizational and project management skills

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Ability to recruit and empower teams of volunteers

·       Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications, and general experience in database management is preferred

·       Experience using social media in fundraising and communications (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).

·       Desktop publishing, graphic design, and website design a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

 

Salary: $40,000.00 to $42,000.00 /year

Agassiz Village, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was established in 1935 as a 300+ acre camp on the beautiful Thompson Lake in Maine. Our mission is to prepare kids for life’s journey by providing an enriching and educational opportunity for economically disadvantaged and under-resourced children from Greater Boston to Maine.  Agassiz Village offers nearly 500 boys and girls ages 8 – 17 years old the opportunity to experience sleep-away camp in the natural beauty of the Poland, Maine with the goal of increasing their sense of well-being, social skills, and awareness of personal potential. We offer children a fun, safe overnight summer camp experience that allows them to develop and practice leadership and life skills--a transformative experience that impacts their futures in education, family, career, and community. Agassiz Village has literally transformed the lives of tens of thousands of children whose families could never have afforded to send them to camp. In addition, to our summer program Agassiz Village is expanding to offer a year-round program for teens. This position is based in Norwood, MA.
