The Fulbright Outreach team serves as the first point of contact for pre-applicants, institutional representatives, and partner organizations throughout the U.S. to recruit and advise a talented and diverse applicant pool for the Fulbright U.S. Scholar and Student Programs. The Outreach and Recruitment Specialist primarily represents the Fulbright U.S. Student Program but may be called upon to speak about the Fulbright Program more broadly during presentations and campus visits. The position works closely with the Program Manager to respond to client requests, complex projects/technical tasks, and monitor budgets and serves as a subject matter expert to team members and represents IIE.
Develops a detailed and targeted outreach and recruitment strategies plan in consultation with Manager, subject for approval prior to implementation.
Serves as a primary public facing representative for the Fulbright Program and is often call upon to present to large audiences both virtually and in person.
First actor in new initiatives and special/technical projects including Alumni Ambassador volunteer management and Program webinars.
Accountable for recruitment strategy implementation. Recruits and serves as direct point of contact for potential applicants, Fulbright Program Advisers, and organizational partners interested in the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.
Develops, maintains, and supports key contacts at partner institutions. Interacts with institutions of higher education, scholarly associations and, as needed, other external constituencies, including vendors, consultants, and contractors, to professionally represent IIE.
Plans and implements electronic outreach initiatives in collaboration with Communications Specialist. Directs communication with pre-participants.
Tracks, monitors, and supports production and/or distribution of outreach materials and information. Ensures correct brand usage in creation of all materials.
Drafts and reviews program reports.
Education and Work Experience:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in order to apply a working knowledge of the theories and principles in a specialized field or work discipline.
Requires at least five years of related work experience.
Candidates may be asked to provide samples of presentations they've created as part later stages of the recruitment process.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of fellowship advising on college campuses and/or volunteer management experience.
Significant experience in an outreach and recruitment role. Must exhibit maturity and be comfortable in a client-centered team and demonstrate ability to use diplomacy in difficult situations.
Ability to organize and handle a large volume of work under severe time constraints and pressures.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
Superior writing and editing skills and a thorough knowledge of the English language.
Demonstrates creativity and ability to suggest innovative yet practical solutions to new challenges.
Able to work as a team player- contributes to the team as well as handles tasks assigned by more than one supervisor.
Spanish language proficiency desirable.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook and applicable outreach and recruitment mediums.
