SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing outpatient substance abuse counseling for various

populations, with a primary focus on pregnant women, women with dependent

children, and intravenous drug users. Additionally, we support men and non-binary individuals, along with those who are justice-involved. We maintain an active caseload of 10-20 clients depending on the frequency of client treatment plans and the size of groups. The position reports directly to the Clinical Director. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Services

     

Provide clinical interventions that address women-specific issues, substance-using pregnant women, and women with dependent children and their families.

   

Provide clinical interventions for men who abuse substances and alcohol.


Specialized services for those with justice involvement

   

Conduct evaluations, assessments, individual counseling support and education and treatment groups for diverse populations, and provide care coordination with multiple providers


Identify client’s needs for mental health care/evaluation, substance abuse counseling, and making appropriate referrals when necessary

    

Reduce barriers for the clients and improve access to services and recovery.


Identify client’s needs for prenatal care, mental health care/evaluation, substance abuse counseling, housing, domestic violence shelter, prevention, and/or counseling, TANF, and make appropriate referrals.

      

Aid in support of clients who may have DHS involvement or other justice-related goals.  

    

Utilize treatment approaches that implement ethical, culturally competent, evidence based practices.


      

Identify strategies or methods to aid clients in the reduction of substance use or abstinence from AOD to increase their self-sufficiency and self-empowerment. 


       

Collaborate with clients to Identify strategies and methods to reduce recidivism.


Service Coordination & Administration


In addition, this job requires service coordination that includes, but is not limited to,

the following:

   

Create & maintain monthly correspondence and reports regarding client progress, UA results, and attendance as dictated by treatment and ROI’s.


     

Work on a highly collaborative team, integrate with overall organization and collaborate with the community.

      

Ensure clients have access to appropriate professional staffing within the agency.

     

Attend client staffing with other agencies and entities with which clients are involved when indicated.

       

Document all client encounters in a timely manner (24-72 hours after the encounter).

Maintain accurate records, client charts, and input into electronic health records.


       

Maintain confidentiality and privacy per HIPPA standards.


Community Outreach

      

Attend and participate in applicable community meetings.  

  

Connect with other service providers and actively pursue collaborations in the community.

Attend and participate in staff meetings

        

Attend meetings within the agency and provide case coordination to best meet the needs of individual clients.


       

Produce documentation timely as requested for audits or other business requirements.



Maintain office environment to professional standards.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

    

A professional license such as LCSW, LPC, LMFT with related education such as a Masters in Social Work, Psychology, or another related field.

     

CAS II is required at a minimum. LAC license is

preferred.

       

Two years of experience or three thousand hours of supervised clinical experience and state-recognized exams. Candidates for a license may be considered on a case-by-case bases.

   

Knowledge and application of ASAM and DSM V required.

    

Knowledge and application of code of ethics associated with respective counseling certifications and licenses.

      

Completion of appropriate continuing education requirements every year to maintain licenses and certifications.


        

Understanding of regulations and standards regarding privacy and confidentiality per HIPPA.

        

Ability to communicate professionally and with cultural competence to colleagues and clients.


      

Self-starter and ability to work independently and within a team environment.

        

Ability to utilize electronic health records and basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office and telehealth applications.


Salary & Benefits



HPP offers a competitive benefits package of health, vision, dental and life insurance, annual leave, and sick leave for all full-time employees.  The salary begins at $68,000 based upon experience and qualifications.

HPP offers a competitive benefits package of health, vision, dental and life insurance, annual leave, and sick leave for all full-time employees. Employees and Employer split 50%/ 50% of health insurance benefits. You will be eligible for 144 hours or 18 days of vacation time and 48 hours or 6 days of sick leave, 10 company holidays, and employee health insurance options after 90 days of employment.  HPP provides a company cell phone or a telephone stipend and mileage reimbursement.
