Medical Director - ID

 

About this position:


PPGNHI’s Clinical Services Team is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as Medical Director in Idaho! 


This is a full time position based in Southwest, Idaho. 

 

The Medical Director provides medical leadership and fosters a culture of quality care and service improvement and excellent patient safety. This role reviews and revises health center standards & guidelines reviews, approves, and supervises research protocols; leads the recruitment and hiring of physician staff in Idaho; supervises and evaluates staff, and participates in the delivery of services by providing surgical and medication abortions and family planning/women’s health services as scheduled.

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

Under the direction of the VP of Medical Affairs/Senior Medical Director, supervises and evaluates clinical care delivered by physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.


Directs the training activities in family planning and abortion services in Idaho for internal staff, and external students and medical residents.

 

Reviews and approves all new research protocols and responsible for and supervises or delegates all ongoing study protocols. 


Supervises Idaho based resident, medical student, and APC training programs, including but not limited to RHEDI or RYAN programs.


Reviews and revises written guidelines for the functioning of the health centers, and is responsible for assisting in the annual updating of the PPGNHI S&Gs.


Seeks and manages external grants that align with the PPGNHI mission.


Provides abortion services, vasectomy, colposcopy and other designated services

 

 

 

Directs the following services (indication of state):

Medication abortion (ID)

Surgical abortion (ID)

Analgesia & sedation (ID)

Early pregnancy loss & management (ID)

Ultrasound (ID)

Men’s health (ID)

Research (AK, ID & WA)

Supervisory Responsibilities:


Research Coordinator, RHEDI training program in Idaho, MDs, and CRNAs in Idaho State.


You’ll need to have:


Five or more years of clinical experience with a focus on women’s or reproductive health care. 

Five years of experience in abortion procedures and care.

Two years medical management or administrative management experience.

Board Certification in OB/Gyn or Family Medicine


License:

MD in ID state; can be licensed in Hawaii, Alaska, and Washington as requested
