Description

The Environmental Integrity Project (EIP) is seeking a full-time Research Analyst to advance Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and other environmental protections at the federal, state, and local levels. This position is available starting in June 2018.


The Research Analyst will compile, manage, analyze, map, and visualize data related to air and water pollution; submit and review public information requests to state and federal government agencies; assist with occasional field work and litigation; research and write research memos and reports; and carry out other tasks as needed.


The ideal candidate will be a proactive, highly-organized, and detail-oriented individual with a demonstrated passion for the environment. He or she must have strong analytical, computational, and communication skills, be able to work independently and with a team while managing and prioritizing multiple long- and short-term projects, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.


Qualifications: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ArcGIS; Strong written and verbal communication skills; A 4-year college degree in environmental sciences, engineering, public health, GIS, or a related field; and at least one year of relevant work experience (including internships and/or volunteer positions). Some experience using EPA databases like Enforcement and Compliance History Online and the Toxics Release Inventory, and R for statistical computing are a plus.
