Description

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (“CFP Board”) – headquartered in Washington, D.C. – is the certifying body for financial planning professionals. It is a non-profit organization that fosters professional standards in personal financial planning through its setting and enforcement of the education, examination, experience, ethics, and other requirements for the CFP® certification.


CFP Board seeks a highly motivated team player to serve as Manager, Continuing Education & Experience. The Manager will manage the Continuing Education and Experience standards functions to uphold CFP Board’s initial certification and renewal requirements.

Essential Functions:

·        Manages the CE sponsor program to ensure both the sponsor and CE programs meet the quality standards as defined by the Council on Education and CFP Board CE Policy

·        Continuously reviews and evaluates continuing education program offerings of vendors for content and quality

·        Provides oversight of the review and approval process of sponsor applications for continuing education credits

·        Reviews and analyzes experience submissions against CFP Board’s standards and requirements and request clarification of descriptions as needed to determine candidate eligibility

·        Ensures the effective and efficient review of CE hours reported by CFP® professionals to fulfill their bi-annual CE & Ethics requirement

·        Monitor the random verification process that ensures candidates’ experience submissions meet standards

·        Monitors and evaluates revenue and expense goals as budgeted

·        Co-manage, contribute and participate with Council on Education, including building effective working relationships and staff advisory resources

·        Supervises, manages and evaluates department staff

·        Performs other duties as assigned



Background/Skills/Abilities Preferred

·        Bachelor’s Degree required; CFP® certification preferred

·        A minimum of 5 years of related professional experience required, preferably in management and administration of credentialing certification and/or continuing education programs

·        Experience in a professional association or financial services industry environment

·        Demonstrated leadership, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, short-term and long-term planning skills

·        Experience in working with, and supporting the activities of committees

·        Experience with budgetary responsibilities and accountability

·        Demonstrated database management and maintenance skills; experience with NetForum a plus

·        Ability to build and maintain effective business relationships with sponsors and certificants and volunteers

·        Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), including strong presentation and negotiation skills

·        Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects and priorities effectively and professionally

·        Customer-focused with high level of comfort providing excellent customer service via phone and email
