Seeking a Highly Experienced & Organized Program Coordinator/Executive Associate

Search Reopened

The Foundation for Self Leadership, a global, US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is searching for a highly organized, experienced program coordinator/manager to serve as Program and Executive Associate.

Incorporated in the State of Illinois, the Foundation has been operating since 2013 to promote greater emotional and relational healing and well-being in our world. It aims to do so by sponsoring independent research and engaging in dissemination and advocacy. Such efforts are centered around an emerging thought paradigm and personal-leadership practice that promise to facilitate deeper inner resilience and social harmony.

Over the last three years, new public online programs have been designed and implemented, sponsored spaces in the Foundation’s semi-annual magazine expanded, and the overall portfolio of the Foundation broadened. A new leadership development initiative was recently launched to engage biennial cohorts of 24 community-focused change agents (or upcoming change agents) from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences in an intensive, immersive leadership-building exploration and discovery.

The sought-after Program & Executive Associate (in a relatively new position) will work remotely in a part-time capacity as a member of the Staff and Volunteers Associates Team. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the new Associate will support the Director’s growing leadership and oversight responsibilities and coordinate/manage various Foundation activities, including the Leadership Fellows Program, closely interfacing with a broad cross-section of stakeholders and pertinent members of a large and growing community of practice.

The ideal candidate is expected to have:

÷ Served for a minimum of five years as a program coordinator or manager and/or executive-assistant responsibilities, with proven effectiveness and tangible results

÷ Put to practice advanced and excellent organizational and communication (writing and spoken) skills and abilities

÷ Acquired significant experience with building out public or community programs in a relevant space (e.g., educational, professional development, or leadership development)

÷ Worked in teams and assembled and hosted group meetings successfully

÷ Gained a good understanding of community-facing and not-for-profit organizations

÷ Developed sophisticated working familiarity with common digital communication systems, planning software, and shared working platforms

÷ Cultivated (and is able to exhibit) a can-do attitude, an entrepreneurial spirit, a high level of emotional maturity, and a commitment to learning and personal growth

÷ Completed an undergraduate degree in a relevant area (and, preferably, a graduate degree).

The Foundation invites applicants from all professional and personal backgrounds, with a special, warm invitation to those from or serving traditionally marginalized communities. With a vigorous commitment to inclusion and social equity, the Foundation highly values the broad diversity of ideas, perspectives and lived experiences among individuals engaged in its work across all aspects of human identity, including race, ethnicity, gender and gender expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, abilities, and military status. As such, the Foundation will build a staff whose makeup reflects such commitment.

If you are interested in this position and have the requisite qualifications and disposition, you are urged to apply promptly as the review and interviews will start immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Please send to Outreach@FoundationIFS.org, and in short order, a cover letter (under the subject line: Program/Executive Associate) along with a consolidated attached PDF file that includes (a) a letter of interest (no longer than two pages) describing your experience and skills, how they align with the Foundation’s needs, and why you should be selected; (b) a professional résumé (no longer than four pages); and (c) a list of three professional references with full contact information (title and position, phone number and email address).
